Much of this is beautifully filmed, as Bergman really comes into his own as an auteur. Still - even on second watch, Marta and Stig are such unpleasant characters that I never get invested in their relationship - especially since you know it’s tragically doomed from the start.
Not one I’ll be returning to anytime soon.
