No system or cage can contain the human spirit. Beyond all of the prescient commentary about our need as audiences for “real” and “authentic” entertainment this is a glorious film about our inherent dignity.
On some level Truman always knows he is caged - but once his mind is freed, there is no turning back.
Incredible performance from Jim Carrey, who probably should’ve won the Oscar.
