The Metropolitan Opera: The Marriage of Figaro, 2025 - ★★★★★
I’ve been slightly obsessed with this opera since I saw it live last April - tracking down around 4 historic recordings on vinyl. Seeing it again on “Great Performances” confirms that this cast rates with the best of those conducted by Karajan and Klemperer.
What a fantastic performance. What a tremendous masterpiece. Bravo! Bravo!
