Interesting ideas and framing, but the tonal shifts detracted from some of the performances. Serious Bergman conversations about death and god’s silence, play a bit more like Mel Brooks parody given some of the broad humor of the Hell characters.
I liked much of the film - but it never coheres into something meaningful.
