The Big Sleep, 1946 - ★★★★½

You could end the “masculinity crisis” in America in five minutes if everyone under 30 watched Bogey and Bacall in this film.

Imperfect, beaten up, and scared out of his wits but never on his heels.

Eddie Mars and his goons never stood a chance.
