This is the most bizarre Christmas movie I’ve ever seen. The plot is twisted, transgressive and oddly sweet in tone? A 17 year old Debbie Reynolds gives an honestly incredible performance as a “child bride” to a writer who says he’s 30 but looks 55.
He keeps her cooped up while he writes and nearly goes back to his first fiancé.
This is a comedy! There is a Technicolor dream ballet!
What the hell did I just watch? This passed the production code? The Fifties man.
