Our Inaugural Screening: Rear Window
The Cognitive Film Society launches June 5th with an unforgettable evening of classic cinema and community
June 5th, 2025 - Inaugural Event
Rear Window (1954)
The Cognitive Film Society invites you to be part of cinema history in the Five Towns as we launch our celebration of film culture. Our evening begins with a special inaugural reception at 5:00 PM (details coming soon - trust us, you won't want to miss this!), followed by our first screening at the majestic Gold Theater at Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library - Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece of urban voyeurism, Rear Window (1954).
Every window tells a story. Every story hides a secret.
Through his rear window, L.B. Jefferies (James Stewart) witnesses what he believes to be a murder. But in an age before smartphones and social media, can he convince anyone else?
With Grace Kelly at her most luminous and Hitchcock at his most precise, Rear Window remains both a perfect thriller and a meditation on the art of watching itself - the perfect film to launch our mission of bringing cinema lovers together.
Join us for our inaugural screening featuring Hitchcock's masterpiece of urban voyeurism.
