No one makes a hangout movie like Richard Linklater. Pure joy to spend 2 hours with the crew of the Cahier du Cinema in their prime.
The performances are so good and enjoyable, you want to climb into the film and live in that ultra cool black and white world forever. An absolute must watch for anyone who has dreams of becoming a filmmaker, or has a vision they must bring to life.
I suppose I’ll be watching French New Wave films for the next few weeks.
*What an NYFF for Richard Linklater. Two amazing films that get deep into the souls of the creative geniuses they portray. So different in tone and style - but also linked by craftsmanship, amazing performances and period authenticity.
