Ahh the mid-budget star-vehicle with weird tonal shifts from rom-com to genre violence. Given the insanely stacked talent in this film (Chris Isaac - what are you doing here?), it should be an all time classic. And for Dean Stockwell and Mercedes Ruhle - it definitely is.
But there’s an almost chaste lack of heat between Matthew Modine and (checks notes) Michelle Pfeiffer?
I found myself thinking of Frankie and Johnny while watching this one, and wishing that level of chemistry was present here.
On the other hand, the film looks glorious. Incredible cinematography and use of color throughout.
