Do not mess with Letty Lynton! Joan Crawford is so deeply deranged and intense, that you cannot help but root for her. There’s an almost proto-Hitchcock/Noir suspense in this film, that thrills even today.
Today’s filmmakers can take note of how much cinema’s effectiveness relies little on budget or flash - and much more on lighting, mise-en-scene and performance.
Brilliance!
