For Your Consideration, 2006 - ★★★½

Movie within a movie review: “Home For Purim” has some of the most moving family dialogue and deep exploration of Jewish family dynamics that you will ever see on film.

The Pischer family is so real you’ll plotz from recognition if you’re a Jewish American.

Ok for real - this was my first time watching this Christopher Guest mockumentary. And while the “Home for Purim” scenes hit as hard as Guffman and Tap and Best in Show - the rest is a bit more paint by numbers Hollywood parody.

The cast is the best in the business.
